The William Henry Oliver Scholarship The first item in the mission statement of the East Nashville High Alumni Association is "To persevere in the recognition of worthy young people by providing scholarships to deserving East High graduates and their descendants".

In this spirit, the William Henry Oliver Scholarships were initiated several years ago in the name of the person who best exemplifies the spirit of East High.
The scholarship fund is provided by the contributions of Alumni, and from a modest beginning, has grown, and continues to grow year by year. The scholarships are provided from the income generated by the fund. The scholarships are awarded on the criteria of academic excellence, character, and need.
